SVGolf Learn-Play-Compete Tournament Series
The Learn-Play-Compete series is designed to develop young golfer’s understanding of the rules, etiquette and various shots they will need in tournament play. The monthly tournaments will be a 9-hole stroke play format to provide a challenging and competitive environment for your child to test and improve their on-course skills. See the online calendar for times and to register – SVGolf Learn-Play-Compete Tournament Series – Silicon Valley Golf Performance Center (svgolfpc.com). No drop-ins, you must register to attend. The tournament series is open to ages 9-17 regardless of skill level or experience. This Series will take place at the Mission Hills Golf Course in Hayward starting the last Sunday of February. Practices will be the first Sunday of every month (first practice). Tournaments will be held the last Sunday of every month.

The Details

The Learn ~ Play ~ Compete Series is divided into 4 quarters:


– Quarter 1 (February/March) = “Learn” ~ Coaches will have a pre-tournament discussion with participants to discuss scoring and rules for tournament format.

– Quarter’s  2 and 3 (April-September) = “Play” ~ Your child can compete in up to six tournaments for points. These Point Qualifying tournaments will narrow down our field of players to be selected for the Tournament of Champions event in Q4. Result points will be posted online for you to track your child’s progress and see how they are stacking up against the other participants.

– Quarter 4 (October/November) =  “Compete” ~  Tournament of Champions** “The Tournament of Champions (TOC)” is the culmination of the “Learn Play Compete” series, featuring the top young golfers who have qualified through the previous quarters of the event.

**To be eligible for the Tournament of Champions, participants must take part in the “Play” tournaments to receive points.

Quarter 1: February-March (2 tournaments) (Students that purchase get priority into Q2/3)
Quarter 2: April-June (3 tournaments)
Quarter 3: July-September (3 tournaments)
Quarter 4: October-November (2 tournaments, last tournament being TOC)

Time:  Must arrive by 11:30am for check-in – tournaments run from 12:00-3:00pm
